Who We ARe

African Fashion Week Vancouver (AFWV) is one of the flagship initiatives of the Afro Fashion and Arts Movement Association (AFAM Vancouver). Established in 2018, AFWV is the largest African fashion and trade exhibition in British Columbia, serving as a vibrant platform to celebrate the creativity, innovation, and heritage of African and diaspora designers, artists, and performers.

Held annually, AFWV brings together a diverse community of fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, and cultural ambassadors for a live showcase of African-inspired fashion, arts, music, and dance. The event also features the prestigious AFAM Awards, exhibitions, and a bustling marketplace that highlights local and international talent while fostering collaboration and entrepreneurship.

Founded in 2018 by Yao Zeus Agoeyovo, African Fashion Week Vancouver is the largest African fashion and trade exhibition in British Columbia. Held annually during Black History Month, the event brings together African fashion designers and performers from across Canada, the U.S., and Africa for a live celebration of creativity. It features fashion, arts, music, dance, awards, exhibitions, and a bustling marketplace.

As one of the most high-profile Africa-focused events in the region, African Fashion Week Vancouver continues to be the most anticipated event for celebrating African talent and culture. It has become a key platform for highlighting Africa’s emerging designers, bringing awareness to Africa’s expanding fashion industry, and creating a space for global collaboration.
